my review

420 Judah St. (cross st 9th)

front room has great modern decor (back room not as nice)
pale pink orchid in frosted glass vase, candle
dark wood chairs with silver accents

Family run - chef from Le Soleil on Clement, server = son

free hot pocket appetizer - fried wonton x 4. Yummy but not good for my cholesterol.

we had papaya salad which came with dried beef (aka jerky)
table next to us had some flaming dish that was then rolled in traditional vietnamese wrap with veggies. (have to get that next time! love fire!)

main course - 5 spice chicken generous portions (2 breasts) and delicious, but who could get this dish wrong

didn't get the shaking beef b/c way to pricey $19 compared to Lok Luck (sp?) beef which was the same but $9 and was like the shaking beef at slanted door

rice - goes with the Tamarind style by the bowl in different flavors
Hainan rice - nothing special
brown rice- good and healthy

dessert - black sticky rice - yum!
I had chocolate fondue!!! love fondue!!! came with stawberries, pound cake, apple, mandarin orange slices. with a little grand marnier

very attentive service. guy who clears plates needs polish.

bathroom - clean, not scary, automatic towel dispenser, handsfree trash can!
