Okay, so I stopped in there on Saturday during a shopping trip. All I can say is HELL NO. Ick. The filling choices looked awful (tofu, beef scraps, pork yet it was spam - am I wrong that it's usually that thinly sliced dried sausage? - ground chicken) and nothing looked fresh. Let me say it first - I'm no bahn mi expert and most of my experience has been in hole-in-the-wall type places in NYC - but this was just not right. One man working there was sleeping, another later appeared wearing filthy clothes. And yet, somehow, against my better judgement (dumb!), we took a risk and got fresh rolls to go. Terrible. One bite and they went in the trash. How much fish sauce could one put into the dipping sauce? Maybe earlier posters are just far more adventurous than me, but next time I'm walking the extra 10 minutes down Washington. I'd have to be on Fear Factor to eat another bite from that place.
