Downhill Alert: Yummy in Ft. Lauderdale

Yummy has been a story of slow decline. First, shortly after they opened, they had to stop selling the sublime, wondrous Peruvian pressed sandwiches that were the original centerpiece of their menu, because the Subway next door had an exclusive on sandwiches with the landlord.

Then, since it was a 10-seat takeout, they stopped making roast chickens and roast pork because they weren't doing volume in those, and as a result some of the chicken dishes in which they'd been using hacked-up roast chicken rather than pan-cooked breasts suffered a bit.

Still, their Peruvian entrees remained yummy: impeccably fresh basic ceviches, boldly flavored versions of the usual chicken and rice, seafoiod dishes, etc. They took out counters, added tables and gradually tried to make it more of a restaurant.

Now it looks like it's changed hands: the cheery yellow walls have been painted cheap basic white and covered in generic pictures. I didn't recognize the people working there. And the ceviche mixto was at turns rubbery and mealy. I might peek in to see if I just caught the B-team, but I'm thinking feh. Fuggedaboutit.
