Just discovered a new European-style doner kebab stand on 2nd Ave. between 94th & 95th called Kebap G.
Limited menu - just doner kebabs, chicken kebabs, fries and drinks; no seating either, the place seems to be a strictly takeaway operation.
The best part? The food is the first authentic French/German-type kebab I've seen in NYC so far; comes in good pide bread (NOT pita!) heated up in a sandwich press and they have a garlic yogurt sauce that tastes straight out of Berlin.
Unfortunately there are a few kinks in the operation; the service seemed pretty rushed when I was there and it seemed like they were still getting the hang of things. Food was cheap though - a large doner, fries & soda went for $6.00.
Now if only they had one of these in Brooklyn...
