Newly opened in the old Monterrey Restaurant location on Elliot Road. Husband and I shared the half chicken ($10) with black beans and rice. I found it very similar to Alpaca Peruvian. The chicken was tender and well-cooked.
The list of sides was quite extensive. You can help yourself to three sauces--Avocado, Chipotle, and Tomatillo. There was the usual line up of bottled hot sauces.
They offer street tacos at $2 each--I remember lengua, al pastor, cauliflower, grilled veg, and de birria.
Salads sounded nice--a grilled romaine with chicken breast and a quinoa with black beans, spinach and avocado in particular.
It has better parking and more comfortable seating than Alpaca in Durham.
Unfortunately, as with Alpaca, I found the dishes marred by too much sodium. Husband didn't notice, but I am on a lower-sodium diet and everything was way too salty for me. I am not fanatical--I eat Chinese and Thai frequently, but this was out of my comfort zone. But, that is just me.
I think it will do well. Give it a try.
