Django revisited - long

My husband and I were guests of friends for dinner at Django on Saturday night.
I am delighted to report that - IMHO - if you liked Django before, you will like it just as much now.

My decadent appetizer was butter-poached escargots, with sweet garlic, mushrooms, pancetta, and puff pastry buttons - out of this world! I mopped up that sauce.
My husband had the fish-n-chips, which was beer-battered skate with crispy fingerlings, cape cod slaw, exotic pickles, and tartar sauce. I tasted his fish; sweet and melt-in-the-mouth delicious.
(Obviously, my descriptions are straight from the menu.)
Two friends had the surf-n-turf; seared scallops (he said best he ever had), tender veal shortrib, horseradish-sweet potato puree, fresh favas. They loved it.

The entrees were very good, though less exciting - sliced strip steak with bacon wrapped potato galette, and lamb t-bones with lamb arancini with a risotto cake.

The favorite dessert was "whoppers" - chocolate profiteroles with chocolate-malt ice cream, Belgian chocolate sauce, etc.

Service was attentive and gracious. It was a bit slow - it took us 2 and 1/2 hours for the meal. This was a weekend night and we were talking with our friends so we didn't mind, but it was a long time between courses. The place was completely filled, but the noise level was okay.

Nothing is ever "the same" but to me, Django is still one of our best BYOB's.
