We stopped at Landmark, the Melrose hotel's restaurant on Penn Ave, last night for a drink, lured by the outdoor tables, and ended up staying for dinner. Our cocktails were very nice and service was attentive. Dinner however another story. Their thing is "elegant comfort food"--my "fish and chips" was crabcakes with shoestring fries and coleslaw. The crabcakes had little taste and the fries were cold, the coleslaw just ordinary. My BF's "mac and cheese" was a homemade pasta with a nice texture but the fontina cheese sauce with asparagus and ham was just boring. After the food was served we were completely forgotten by the servers.
