Hi all -- I'm having 10 people over for dinner tonight and would love some ideas of what to serve as a main course. A couple of my friends went to the farmers market, and so far we have the following:
Appetizer -- Zucchini blossoms (lightly fried, using Marcella Hazan recipe)
Side dishes --
Roasted Yellow Beets with citrus vinagrette (using a recipe from the Chez Panisse Cafe Cookbook)
Rice with basil, butter and mozzarella (from Marcella Hazan).
I'm stymied on an entree. Several of the attendees are fish eating "vegetarians" and one is a ovo-lacto vegetarian. The others eat meat. I was thinking maybe an egg based entree would be good, maybe a spanish tortilla or the like, but am open to all suggestions. Thanks!
(BTW, to anyone wondering, on the LA Board I posted I was going to do tapas this weekend, but that plan has gone out the window, since the above mentioned farmer's market excursion changed the tenor of the menu. I'll save tapas for another occasion).
P.S. This is reposted from the LA Board, where I inadvertently posted it first.
