Hi all - I am here for a conference in Philly staying at the Loews Hotel and have one slot open for dinner tonight. I can walk or take a taxi to a restaurant. I have read a lot of the posts on this board about the "must-eats" in Philly (based on the advice here I'm trying Reading Terminal Market for lunch tomorrow) and cannot decide on one restaurant among the list I've collected. I live in Chicago and am in NYC a lot and am about to move there - and obviously both cities have a lot to offer food-wise - so I'd like something tasty and unique to Philly with a relatively nice (doesn't have to be fancy or trendy), relaxing atmosphere. I'll be dining alone.
I would truly appreciate your advice in helping me choose ONE of the following or another restaurant I missed!
Here are the recommendations I found that appealed to me:
Django (not sure if I can get a table, though)
Morimoto (I'm intrigued by this, probably because I share his name, but recommendations seemed mixed and I am extremely picky about sushi - I would probably go for omakase if I went here)
Jones (concierge recommended this when I asked for a unique-to-Philly place, but hound reactions seemed mixed)
I saw that Pasion and Azafran were also highly recommended by hounds, but I'm not sure I want Latin food tonight.
Thank you in advance!
