Yesterday was a quiet snowy night so we thought it might be fun to walk over to a place w/ a view of snow out the window. It was pretty quiet, so we got our choice of window seats :-)

The unagi hako is an interesting way to make the normal unagi sushi. They don't pack the rice down at all and it looks like it was made sort of like a casserole w/ unagi, avocado, and rice. That was my favorite dish of the night. It felt like it melted in your mouth.

The spider maki (tempura soft shell crab) was also well executed. The crab was tender. It's a bit weird to have tempura in a maki, but it did taste good (though it cooled off rather quickly).

The godzilla maki was a bit overrated. I had read about it in a review and it sounded like the flavors might mesh together well, but it tasted mostly of tempura batter inside. The rolls were also sliced too thin so it fell apart after you took the first bite and it was too big to put in your mouth all at once :-P

Rounded these out w/ a sashime deluxe dish. The sashimi slices were a bit thicker than Oga's and had no fishy taste (especially the mackerel). Didn't like the octopus or the crab (dyed fish) stick maki though; that's one thing I hate about these combo dishes...you always get something you don't like :-(

The salad an interesting sesame oil dressing. The miso soup also had a few small button mushrooms besides the usual stuff.
