I had dinner at Michelia

It was delicious. But sort of sad to see it so empty on a Saturday night. Hopefully it's just a post-holiday lull. It's not exactly cheap, nor is it a hidden gem, so it's not exactly chow-ish, but it's darned good.

Started out with the grilled pork salad/vermicelli with very tasty dressing. I'm thinking it was a sort of Nuoc Cham. Also started with the vietnamese chicken wings. Not as tasty as I would have hoped (I was left pining for the 'angel wings' at a favorite SF thai place).

Main course was the firecracker (or something like that) shrimp. Nicely deep fried with panko and garnished with some light greens on a grilled tomato.
Lady friend had the salmon, which she reported as quite good. I didn't try it as I was just trying to finish my food. The pork salad was quite large.

Lovely jasmine tea accompaied. Would recommend that as well.
