I am putting together a dinner for 6 people in Del Mar or La Jolla. The budget is appx. $50 / person, including wine (3 mid-range bottles), tax, and tip. The guest of honor is from Paris, in his 70's. So it seems that a fish restaurant in a California style would be most appropriate.
Fresh in La Jolla and Pacifica del Mar come to mind as possibilities. Is one discernably better than the other? Is either just impossible given my moderate budget?
Please make other suggestions. I am not very familiar with the dining options in this part of San Diego.
