Dining A to Z - Nob Hill Cafe (and drinks at Big 4)

tedm | Mar 19, 200507:33 PM

Just wanted to mention the excellent service (as well as yummy food) our group of 8 received at the Nob Hill Cafe. We arrived at 8pm on a Wednesday and the place was jammed; I certainly didn't expect them to be able to seat a party of 8, but they took a cell number and would give us a call.

In the meantime, we had some excellent drinks at the Big Four bar in the Huntington Hotel just down the street. I had the best gin gimlet I have ever tasted, and the others really enjoyed their drinks as well. Kudos to this old school establishment. We will be back.

At 9:15 we got the call from the restaurant, and we hustled down there where we had some of the best service I've had in quite a while. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable and courteous, even when dealing with a large group 30 minutes before closing time. We had a blast and ate some tasty food. Will definitely go back.

(Thanks to Melanie for the recommendation).
