These were the restaurants on my radar when first researching our January trip.
State Bird – Al’s Place – Cockscomb – Flour + Water – Nopa – Liholiho Yacht Club
Obviously because they sound great, but I won’t deny that coming from a city with restaurants that don’t get a lot of national attention, it is exciting to visit spots we’ve heard of from halfway across the country...but I do worry about these spots being over-hyped.
Was able to secure reservations for State Bird and Al’s Place already and can strike off Cockscomb for a lunch. Reservations are not open yet for Flour + Water, but I’m crossing my fingers to get one if we try right when the reservations open.
OK—So getting to the point of my post, if we were to do Nopa or Liholiho, I would have to switch out State Bird or Al’s Place.
Wondering if the consensus would be to definitely switch out one of these or just go with what I’ve got? I’m just trying to see what you think if comparing these in terms of providing a reliably good dining experience that will be fun, interesting, and delicious.
