So we went to the Bowie show at the AGO yesterday and decided to go somewhere nearby for dim sum afterward. Dim Sum King on Dundas has been mentioned on this board so that's where we ended up. Bleah! Worst worst dim sum I have ever had. As soon as we walked in the door, two carts showed up at the table. We chose 3 dishes and the woman pushing the cart showed them to us but said she would get "fresh" ones from the kitchen. Right. Two minutes later, the very same dishes arrived, having been microwaved to within an inch of their lives - rubbery and infernally hot. The beef balls were utterly tasteless and the other two items (can't remember the names) were just chewy and dense. We ordered two other items off the menu - har gow and fried eggplant - both were disappointing and tasteless (although I suspect the har gow had been purchased frozen because they looked too perfect). There were no condiments on the table - none of the tables had any - they just provided a tiny dish of dipping sauce which was not replenished or offered again. A totally poor dim sum lunch.
Needless to say we won't be back. Should have walked a little further to Rol San or Noble. Oh well.
