Would two desserts be better than one?

Tracy L. | Feb 5, 2004 02:27 PM

I am having a dinner party for eight. I am making the main course (two soups: one a squash soup and the other an udon w/ miso soup) and the others are bringing apps, salads and desserts. One friend is bringing an orange chocolate torte because it is another friends birthday. Would I be stealing her thunder if I provided another dessert? She tends to prefer her desserts to be the pièce de résistance. Which leads me to my next question: what should I serve if I make a second dessert? I was thinking a cheese course might be nice but it may be too rich if we are having chocolate afterwards. Any suggestions are appreciated.
