I am recreating a specific, years-old day in Paris for my wife, but in Baltimore. The BMA will have to substitute for the Louvre, but have found an awesome flower shop (Dutch, but very close to what we remember in Paris) nearby, bread (and patisserie) from Bonaparte Breads, chocolates -- you get the idea.
Anyway, our favorite dive of a restaurant in Paris is "Restaurant CousCous" in the Latin Quarter and I am looking for a good substitute in Baltimore.
I have heard that there is a good Lebanese place near Johns Hopkins, but I have also heard significant concerns about cleanliness there. (Ironic, since the original I am aping is in Bacteria Alley, I know...) But I'd rather not invite any roaches to the date...
But if anyone knows of a good place to get decent, vegetarian (she is, I'm not) couscous dishes in Baltimore, I'd be eternally grateful.
This re-creation day is part of her Christmas gift (we will spend the day in January) so time is (sort of) of the essence.
Thanks very much for letting me pick your brains!
