how would you describe the Boston restaurant scene to an out of towner?

fara | Jan 26, 201501:11 AM     125

you have only a minute or two to tell someone what's worthy of eating out in Boston (and surrounding area), what do you tell them?

for me, simply Khmer in lowell. Cambodian is a delicious cuisine not found in most major cities.
cha yen Thai in Watertown, sukkothai noodles...wow
tenoch in Medford, considering what passes for Mexican food- even near the Mexican border- I would recommend this.
it's possible to get a good falafel and pita, many places it is not. I recommend ramis or Boston kabob.
oleana: reasonably priced higher end dining with interesting food and excellent wine.

please keep it short! especially if you're well travelled explain how Boston excels in your opinion!
