Spent 4 nights in Denver recently and wanted to report on my overall very successful dining experiences. Best was Fruition. Great neighborhood place, friendly staff and excellent food in a relaxed atmosphere. Next night was a Root Down, which has a lively, buzzy atmosphere, also very friendly staff and good, though not excellent, food. A fun night out, though. Then went to El Diablo, a divey Mexican place which was great. Killer margarita's, authentic food and pleasant staff. Not fine dining by any means, but worth the trip. Finally, went to Ossetia Marco on Larimar Street. It was fine. Relaxed, not particularly intimate, food was good if unmemorable. Nothing wrong with the place, but it was the least interesting of the lot. Had a vegetarian lunch in Boulder at Leaf. Nice place, good food. Not much more to say. Final meal before heading to the airpot was lunch at Domo, a Japanese "country" restaurant. My wife loved the brown rice and the food was certainly not standard Japanese. Not a soy sauce bottle in site. Muted flavor, healthly food. Probably not for every one, but we liked it.
