dell'anima vs. Market Table (West Village date)

Hi all,

I was hoping you could all help me with a last minute question.

I've got a date tomorrow night. It's going to be in the West Village. Money isn't an object but I don't want it to be over-the-top. Looking for New American or progressive Italian. We're going to Little Branch afterwards, but a good cocktail program would be a bonus.

I had settled on Market Table (even with the lack of a cocktail program) because the menu is simple (she isn't an adventuerous eat), the room seems sexy but casual and it seems quiet enough to have a conversation while still having a bit of energy in the room.

My question is - should I be looking at dell'anima? My date loves Del Posto and I believe one of the dell'anima chefs was previously at Del Posto. My concern is that dell'anima looks like it might be loud and fast; trendy and sensory overload-ish. What do you all think? I'm looking for fun and upbeat but someplace where we can hear each other talk and not be rushed out.

Any feedback would be much appreciated. Thanks!
