Delicious food in Dayton

antonia2 | Jan 18, 201306:44 AM

We had a great meal at a newish restaurant in Dayton last night. Olive on East Third is small -- make reservations, it was crowded on Thursday night. Food locally sourced, prepared carefully and is able to meet all kinds of dietary requirements (vegan, gluten free, for instance) and is delicious. The great service is casual, but attentive. It is BYOB with a very low corking fee. The meal for four (we had two appetizers to share, one salad, four main courses, and two desserts) was $120.

The portions are really nice, not too big, not too small. My husband had the chicken pot pie, our daughter had the vegetarian main course and our son-in-law and I had the delicious hamburgers. All served with lots of vegetables. Healthy and delicious.

And for dessert? Jeni's ice cream! A ton of flavors.

The atmosphere is fun -- its an old fast food place.

We are big fans of The Winds and Meadowlark and Olive is a great addition to good eating in this part of Ohio.
