I apologize if this has been mentioned before but I don't remember much about it and it didn't come up in the search...I went to Sripraphai and had a WONDERFUL appetizer consisting of crispy rice cakes and a dipping sauce of shrimp, coconut milk, curry, tamarind, garlic...really really delicious. After a great deal of Googling, I've come up with the name "Khao-tung Na-tung." Does anyone know if this is a regular item? It was on a separate sheet, but I wasn't sure if that was for specials, or for new things they came up with for the regular menu but didn't feel like reprinting the menu...
My dinner companion was Thai and she was very excited, she said it was a rare dish to see here. I was very happy to make her happy!
Anyway, I have serious cravings for it and think I may try to recreate for New Year's eve potluck dinner...
