delicias peruanas report

Some friends brought me to this restaurant last night. Its Pervuian in Corona in Queens. 4307 104th st bet 43 and 44th street.
We were 5 people and got the must have appetizer called Jalea. Its 25 dollars, but is a giant pile of tender excellet fried fish, calamari and shrimp covered in red onions. It is truly sublime. It also has those crunchy large corn kernels strewn about. Now 2 people could possibly share this as an entree. but it would be too huge for one person to possibly eat alone.
The ceviches are another specialty.. they are listed as appetizers, but 2 at my table ordered them as a main and they too are fantastic. They are more then large enough to serve one person as a full meal.
they had the "mixto", which consisted of octopus, calamari, shrimp and fish. also served on top of some type of sweet potato and with boiled corn kernels on top. Delighful!
Another person got the Seco de carne. This is a ultra soft beef stew served with some sort of cilantro sauce and rice and beans .Yummy.
All in all this place is fantastic. Their specialy seems to be some sort of thing called Tallarin which is green spagetti with meat or fish on top.
there were all sorts of cool looking things on other people's tables. The one problem is there is no english menu or translation. The waiter(owner?) was wonderful but we didnt have the heart to ask what every single menu item was.. I got a to go menu and am going to do some ivestigation and translate it at some point.
Go to this place, but gets very crowded. And is quite small..
I searched and never saw a posting before.. so here is a post.
