DC/NOVA: Meeting the Boyfriend

gustaf | Aug 6, 2007 11:23 AM

Family in Arlington meeting boyfriend from NYC for first time on Saturday night.

The old standby is Carlyle (decently priced, something for everyone, casual, etc.), but I feel the need to branch out after less than good experiences as of late.

BF has never been to DC (don't ask) so maybe something in Old Town or Clarendon or DC that would allow for some nightlife afterword? Basic, good food a must. Mid-priced (~$30 pp w/o bevs) meals a plus. Nothing too out there. Nothing that will try to compete with NYC. One diner does not eat red meat.

Maybe Overwood? I even thought of Ray's (they have salmon and shrimp).

Any help you hounds can provide would be great. The stress is killing me.
