Where to Go? HELP with a Two-Day Food Fest!

Alright loyal foodie brethren -

My mom, sister, aunt and I are embarking on a two-day food fest, from this Sunday afternoon (the 19th) until Tuesday morning (the 21st) before I start my new job in the city. We're staying on 57th (not the best location, but stll ) and all we want to do is walk and eat, walk and eat. That being said, we're mostly looking for NYC staples and cheap eats we can all share -- rather than more upscale sit-down places.

So help with -- and rate -- our choices! We want pizza, bagels, breakfast, Italian, potentially good Asian and/or Mexican, and GREAT dessert. We're also staying clear of some places we've already been like CSBC, Russ and Daughters, John's, etc.

Knowing what we know already, coupled with the research we've done here and other sites, here's what we're thinking so far:

Donut Plant (changed my life) : donuts
Katz' (duh) : pastrami on rye
Nicky's : banh mi
Artichoke : square
Meatball Shop : meatballs
Zabb Elee : thai
Crif Dogs : hot dogs
H & H: bagel

Balthazar : french fries / bread basket
Luke's Lobster or Pearl Oyster Bar : lobster roll
Cheeky : sandwiches
Butter Lane : banana cupcake / peanut butter frosting
Veselka : diner grub
Five Points : churros
Tasty Hand Pulled Noodle : noodle
Jane : french toast
Shake Shack : burger
OTTO : gelato
Mamoun's : falafel
Motorino : pizza
Laboratorio del Gelato : gelato
Max Brennar : any dessert
Cookshop : buttermilk beignets
Blue Ribbon Bakery : breakfast
Torrisi Italian Specialities : good italian
Eataly : to browse

DiFara : pizza
Baked : peanut butter banana pie + sweet n salty brownie
EAT : bread basket + grilled cheese
Saltie : sandwiches
Mile End : poutine
Grimaldi's : pizza
Scarpetta : spaghetti and meatballs

Little Branch

Where do we NEED to go? What other places (or hidden gems) have we missed? What should we avoid?

What do you all think? Kathryn, here's lookin' at you, kid...
