New on Chandler Blvd. & Dobson. Nicer setting than the usual ethnic Vietnamese (read: it doesn't smell). Great friendly owner, Justina. She is trying hard to make this hip and upscale, but still cheap. More Thai-Vietnamese fusion.
Have had lunch here once, dinner here once, and a banquet for eight people just last week. I can enthusiastically recommend every appetizer (the short ribs are a real treat), all noodle and shrimp dishes, and if they are offering it as a special, the whole fish. Even the stir fried vegies had a kick to them. Tapioca for desert was good, too. Haven't tried the Pho yet. Wouldn't recommend the lemon chicken (it's not bad, it's just that everything else was better).
No beer or wine license yet, and no corkage fee if you bring your own. Last week's New Times also enthusiastically reviewed this restaurant (and she normally pans everything!)
If you're looking for authentic Vietnamese, I suspect you will be a bit disappointed. However, it's a great place to take those who don't like vietnamese, or have never tried it. And it's cheap, cheap, cheap. Appitizers range in the $4-5 range and are large. Entree's and soups $5-9, and easily feed two.
Open 7 days a week and definately worth a vist.
