My pals and I attempted to eat at Bon Ton in NO in late October, assured by the concierge at our hotel that a 6:00 dinner did not need reservations. Oh so wrong, and oh so lucky were we. The maitre d' suggested Cuvee just across the street.
it was one of the great meals I have ever had. The suggested wine (I think it was a Sauvignon Blanc - the waiter suggested it and confirmed that it was a frequent pairing) complemented the scallops perfectly. One friend had the veal chop, another steak. We were all delighted and would go back in a heartbeat. Great staff - courteous, friendly, and very accomodating of a surprise 5, 3 in jeans. they treated us like we were visiting dignitaries.
