How to cut a whole brisket?

Nyleve | May 11, 201602:24 PM     12

I bought a whole brisket today, with a plan of doing it in the smoker next week. It turned out to be quite a bit bigger than I expected - 14 lbs - so I would like to cut it into 2 pieces and freeze some for a future purpose. I know that the anatomy of a brisket is such that there is a way to do this properly. I will probably smoke half to 2/3 of it. How do I cut it so that the remaining piece is also good to smoke? If the smaller piece isn't suitable for smoking, what else would you do with it? Details please - described In a way that a non-butcher can understand. Thanks!
