Cupcakes at Kee's Chocolates

Kee of Kee's Chocolates fame recently started making cupcakes. The size of the cupcake is more that of what you'd produce as a home baker. It's not a giant cupcake like Sage or a big frosting bomb like Magnolia. It actually is a reasonable size for someone who wants to indulge a little.

I would characterize her cupcakes as focused on really good flavors of cake with just a smear or two frosting on top. The frosting doesn't stand out at all, in taste or proportion. Some had chocolate frosting, some had white frosting. But the cake part is great. Light, not too sweet, fluffy, not dry, and had interesting flavors: jasmine (fragrant but not that interesting), juniper berry (a bit strange but good), rose (excellent and I wasn't even expecting to like this), earl grey (delicious, comforting, addictive, a really subtle flavor that grew on me over time), peach and ginger (didn't try), sesame (didn't try).

A friend brought an assortment to a party, and I neglected to ask the price, but they were all adorably wrapped in plastic, tied with straw, and individually labeled.
