CT Vaughn's Public House-brief review

Just checked this place out in Hartford last night...Pratt Street.

First off...all day Tuesdays they have $2 Irish drafts (including hard cider on tap...which really pleased my friend).

I had the GlenKerry Potatoes appetizer which is fries covered in a curry sauce with a blob of sour cream on top....they were awesome. A bit spicy but addictive.

I tried the fish and chips which I thought were awesome. Lightly battered and better than most places I've tried in the area (pub wise). Also the Farmhouse Pie was very good. It sounds (on the menu) like Chicken Pot Pie but in reality it was more like the filling of a chicken pot pie, with a giant tasty biscuit plopped on top. The veggies were fresh and the chicken was really good!

Also, (though this isn't my cup of tea) they close down Pratt Street and party down there when there are local soccer and rugby matches. Memorial Day weekend they're having a "party" in the street and you can (basically) get hammered and take a shuttle to Rentsheler Field to catch the Hooligans play rugby.
