We had a terrific dinner here, last night, based upon the review (link below) that I read at the Epicurious site.
There were four of us, and we shared two appetizers, to begin: a terrific egg roll stuffed with duck and
mushrooms and a great crabcake topped off with onion rings.
Then, I had alligator bites with two remoulades, one regular mayo one and one with a "kick". My hubby had roast breast of duck with blackberry sauce, my friend had rack of lamb and her hubby had the pecan crusted catfish. Everything was absolutely wonderful.
The decor was better than I had expected, from the description. Unfortunately there was no piano player that night. The waitress explained that he only plays a few times during the week.
If this restaurant were in a better location, I think it would be packed & get a lot more play, but when we left, the street was loaded with, what seemed to be, thousands of motorcycles, and lots of young folks, who looked to be drinking & hanging out, not the dining
This is a very talented chef and should be more recognized than he is!
We will definitely return, and perhaps make it on a week night to avoid the "scene" and maybe be lucky enough to catch a night the piano player is on!
