Creating a bday signature drink... making my own bitters - a little off the wall. would love suggestions for improvement

I am throwing myself a cocktail party birthday party in November and have started planning already.

I want to serve beer, wine and a signature cocktail.

The flavors I LOVE are not your standard flavors and I want the cocktail I create to have more universal appeal for my friends. If it were up to me, I would mix Mezcal, lime, ginger and maybe sriracha or chartreuse. I love smoke and heat, and do not like anything too sweet, but I have tried these combos on friends and it is very polarizing - love or hate.

I have been doing little trial runs - the other night a margarita with fresh squeezed grapefruit, lemon, lime, diced jalapeño, and a tiny squirt of sriracha - very good! refreshing with a bit of heat and not too much sugar. I think this would be tame enough to appeal to the crowd but in November I wonder about all that fresh squeezed juice and the time involved in squeezing (I am in Boston, it will be cold here then).

I would really like something I could make ahead as there will not be a bartender or staff to wait on my friends.

So, the next idea I am playing with is Triple Eight Blueberry flavored vodka (which I really like - local, made in Nantucket, don't like it as much as tequila but I think it is fantastic nonetheless) mixed with a bitters and a splash of a soda (possibly a lemon flavored soda?).

I am working tonight to create the bitters for this concept.... I planned to mix the rind of meyer lemons with cardamom pods and possibly a chili (I purchased a fresno chili (not as hot as jalapeño), a jalapeño and one other than sadly I cannot remember the name of but it is smaller yet thinner and longer than a jalapeño and also green).

So, in summary, my questions are: can you offer signature cocktail recipe suggestions for a girl who loves heat and smoke but wants to please her crowd and secondly what do you think about this bitters recipe I am attempting and how do you think I might work it to make it pair well with the blueberry vodka?

thank you!
