CrabFest 2007?

Hoc | Feb 8, 2007 03:17 PM

Again, a broken search engine here reveals nothing useful. A google search shows that Oakville Grocery has a Crab & Paella Fest this Saturday. However, we are going to be there next weekend.

I remember that Fisherman's Wharf usually has an event that they call "Crab Fest," and I think it's usually in February. But I can't find any reference to it. Does someone know about this, if it's happening this year, when, and what it entails?

P.S. -- Looks like my girlfriend is insisting on the roasted crab at Scoma's this trip. Anyone have any very strong recommendations for amazing crab while there? Even a great Cioppino/Caciucco would be nice. Something other than "the usual suspects" (i.e., I lived there for about 3 years in the mid-1980s. I know all seafood there is fresh, crab is particularly good this time of year, it's great just getting one cracked from the stands and eating it with a round of sourdough on the docks, and the Fisherman's Wharf restaurants, while expensive, often have good crab. I know about Swan Oyster Depot. I'm looking for anything other than this advice.)
