I am craving a crab salad as it is getting H-O-T outside. I am not looking for the mayonnaise based kind, but rather fresh crab meat layered with fresh ingredients like mango, avocado or green papaya and maybe some cilantro. I have had his style before, usually tossed with a mild dressing.
If anyone has any good recipes along these lines I'd appreciate it.
Also, can I use a good quality canned crab meat or should I buy crab legs and crack them? If I do buy crab legs, how many would I need to make a salad for two?
BTW, I live near downtown Los Angeles, so any sources for buying would be appreciated too.
