Are cows in Ireland raised in factory farms are they all free range?l

I know kerrigold brand dairy products are from free range grass fed cows, but is that the case with all cows used to sell dairy and beef in Ireland? When I went to ireland in the 90s dairy and beef were very abundant and affordable and that was was also when mad cow was common, which ive always believed was more likely in facory fams where cows are kept under poor conditions. Now I hear Ireland is all free range? Were factory farms prevalent in the 90s until mad cow? I always hear stories of poor times in Ireland when dairy, especially butter and cream were like novelty items but when I visited the streets were practically paved with butter cream and cheese. Was that due to factory farms? I dont
remember seeing them but I asked my aunt who was with me and she swears there were factory farms, but her memory isnt the most reliable. Unfortunatey we are not connected with any living relatives in Ireland.
