My wife took me to Gibraltor in Lancaster for my birthday on Wednesday. As is to be surmised from the name the menu is largely seafood based. The room is large and open which can lead to some noise. However the food is very good and amongst the best in Lancaster. For starter I had oysters. Clearly fresh they were served cold with classic sauces, I however like them bareback and enjoyed them very much. Had a whole trout stuffed with crab for entree which was perfectly cooked with only a taste of crab.
My wife also had fish, the striped bass which she enjoyed as well.
The service here is, I think, the best in Lancaster. Attentive without being annoying. As we walked to our table every server we saw spoke a greeting to us. Very polite and professional.
Total tab was 98.00 which included one cocktail and one glass of wine for my wife and no desert or coffee.
On occasion I think that is fine but thats alot. However I think value for price is high. As I have posted before Lancaster is a good place to eat at the high end. What it lacks is good quality neighborhood places with more moderate pricing
