County Line Harvest, Petaluma

At the farmers market last Saturday in Petaluma, I sniffed strawberries at two other vendors before settling on a baket of fragrant berries from County Line Harvest. These were on the small side. Besides being sweet and ripe, they had more acidity than other strawberries tried this season. The only thing I didn't like is that they were a bit hard.

I also bought some baby salad greens and wild arugula. While the greens were good, the wild arugula ($7 per pound) was something special. Nutty, tender, peppery, and only faintly bitter . . . so good.
