Went to corduroy for my birthday...

Everything was FANTASTIC...except the service, which was average at best.

For me, what makes average service is when the server NEVER stops back to check how the food is, by simply asking, "Enjoying everything?".

Actually, realistically, that is below average service, but I always am generous to servers, having been in the biz myself.

But it just me? Is not asking the simple question, "everything to your liking/enjoying everything?" perhaps the most important part of dining, even if the food IS fantastic. Having been a server it just leaves me feeling the server isn't trying hard enough. Waiting tables is hard, but not so hard that you can't make sure you find the 5 seconds it takes to do a quality check on food, even if as a server you are "SURE" it's fine.
