afternoon hounds--this is a little belated since two friends of mine and my dad ate there last tuesday night. we went into the evening with no real expectations other than slow service. and we received several pleasant surprises. first off it's six courses for twenty bucks so even if only average you aren't paying through the nose. we had a bowl of split pea soup to start and then a nice small piece of venison with some kind apricot/apple glaze. it also came with a nice pastry. then we very nice raspberry gelato followed by the main course which was salmon over asparagus and risotto with an incredible mushroom sauce. cucumber and tomato salad followed that and a decent cookie and creme cake thing to finish it off. we also were served a coffee drink with cinnamon and orange pell and drambuie. they do have a wine list and serve dinner tues-fri. the menu changes daily for three weeks and then starts over again.
service was amateur. as it should be. very nice and helpful and if you are looking for something different and not expecting everything to go perfectly it is a real treat. i'm excited to go back and try it again.
