Cooking with wine question

About 8 days ago I opened a bottle of red wine which we didn't finish. I bought some short ribs to braise in the wine and I was going to cook them tonight. I realized that the wine might now be too old to cook with. It tastes ok to me but I'm not particuliarly educated about wine. I don't want to ruin my short ribs. What do you think?
