I need a new reasonably priced ($10.00 or less a gallon) oil to sauté and pan fry with. My old standby, corn oil, now smells nasty to me. I never liked Canola for cooking because it smells like two week old mackerel when heated. Soybean also has a foul smell. I use both pure and extra virgin olive oil but neither are great for high heat cooking. I keep a small bottle of Grapeseed Oil for searing but that’s too expensive. I have used peanut oil in my deep fryer . Does anyone saute with this?
