I am trying to find a culinary vacation in the US that will be somewhat hands on intensive, but not too much like school. I prefer something in a major city or by a lake resort. I will be coming from Austraila, but stopping in NY first to sample all of the best food in NY with a friend.
This trip I will be doing solo and I am in my early 20's, so I don't want to be with a bunch of seniors. I know the Culinary Institute has a great progra, but I am really looking to travel to Chicago, DC or even Boston. I prefer not to do Wine Country only because it centers so much on wine and I don't drink, plus it's a long flight.
