Cookie shipping challenge

I plan to bake an assortment of cookies for a friend in the army. We don't know where he is stationed. His unit relocates alot. All I have is an APO address.

The package may be subject to heat or cold and may take a couple weeks to reach him.

I'd like to make three or four kinds of cookies. Any suggestions for cookies that don't break easily and stay fresh a long time?

In past years I've sent oatmeal raisin, molasses cookies, and mocha butterballs. The major always replies that the cookies are great. But he would never say anything if they arrived a mess of stale crumbs.

Any packing tips?

Here is how I've packed the cookies in the past. I put 3 or 4 cookies in a sandwich baggie and close tightly with a twist tie. Then nestle all the baggies in layers in rubbermaid box -- with bubble-wrap between the layers so there is no movement when shaken. The rubbermaid boxes get packed in foam-nuts.

I'd love to send brownies. I wonder if they would stay fresh enough.
