Connemarra single malt Irish whiskey

I got to taste some of this yesterday. I have to say I am not a fan of Irish whiskey as it always seems too one-dimensional to me. However this is a double distilled PEATED whiskey. It tastes a lot more like scotch from Islay - not the in the face medicine peat monsters like Laphroaig - much lighter with fruity notes and a slightly sweet finish. I have to say that this is now my Irish whiskey of choice - not that I'll be buying many bottles at the $40+ price tag.
