I have a confession: I love pub grub!

There, I said it; I'll say it again: I LOVE PUB GRUB!

Whether it's fish & chips, a big bacon cheeseburger, shepherd's pie, bangers & mash, you name it, I love it. I have a weekly ritual of heading out to a pub for dinner once a week with my buddies, but we've been at it so long we're getting a bit bored with our usual hangouts. Not to mention, most of them are merely average. Does anyone have any recommendations? Here are the spots we frequent:

Bitter End on Clement: Excellent burgers, everything else ranges from adequate to yucky. Portions are big though, and prices are cheap.

Phoenix on Valencia: Great-looking menu, but it's hit and miss. When they're "on", they're "on" with excellent meat loaf, corned beef sandwiches and good burgers. As often as not they're "off" and the food is merely OK.

Wilde Oscar's on Folsom: Tragedy befell them recently when they scaled down the menu. During their first few months the food was stellar, now it's average and all the interesting options are gone (no more delicious lamb stew!) One of my party swears he got food poisoning the last time we were there, but several others had the same thing (fish & chips), and they were all fine.

The Liberties on Guerrerro: Solid food, but not remarkable. A bit pricey for pub foood also, but they are the most consistent in terms of quality.

Does anyone else have more suggestions?
