We ate at Coco Rumba last night for a friend's birthday. I could not believe what an overall BAD experience it was from start to finish! We had an 8pm reservation for 8 people, but they didn't seat until almost 8:30. While we waited, some of us had drinks at the bar. My husband had to ask for his drink 3 times before he got it. We finally we seated at the only table available...a 6 top round with a small square table stuck next to it. Really odd. Dirty silverware and glasses. Gross.
We waited for some time for a waitress, but nobody came over. I had to ask for water. Then we had to ask for menus. We finally ordered what they said was their appetizer "special" platter. Awful. Cold. The shrimp in garlic was unbearably spicy. At 9pm, I went upstairs to use the bathroom and saw some of the waitstaff- including ours- hanging out in a nearby corridor and I had to let her know we needed to order entrees.
The entrees came in spurts. My grilled prawns and moro rice was cold and the prawns were mushy. Another friend ordered the bisteca that was supposed to be rare. It came out well done, but ice cold. My husband's food was also cooked entirely wrong and ice cold. We sent it back. Mine came back warm, but still mushy ( obviously microwaved) and the steak that was well done, came back rare, but still cold. I don't get it! We picked at the food b/c at that hour, we were hungry and it was a friend's birthday so we didn't want to make a big deal.
I honestly don't know which was worse- the food or the service. At some point, one couple was sharing a fork because we couldn't find anyone to get us another after the first had gone back into the kitchen with food that was to be recooked.
I will never, ever go back there. It was horrible.
