New to the board, stumbled upon it while looking for a place to eat on a Sunday evening. We ended up at Cocagne and wanted to share my experience. The food was very tasty. I had 40$ menu (entrée. Main, desert) opted for the cured ham ravioli entrée which was excellent and the cerf Boileau as a main, also very tasty, although the accompanying potatoes were undercooked (bordering on raw!).
Later in the evening the chef made an appearance in the dining room and went from table to table to speak to patrons……every single table was paid a visit but ours!!! I found that to be very odd and almost insulting…..Don’t know if he was turned off by the fact that we were speaking English (I should certainly hope not, as we’re both perfectly bilingual), but IMO if you’re going to check on ALL of the tables none should be excluded….
Although the food was quite good and the atmosphere very cozy this detail really turned us off (perhaps an extreme reaction on our part, but it was nevertheless bothersome)
