Clinton Street Baking Co.

We went to Clinton Street Baking Co. for brunch today. The food was pretty good, but not amazing. We had to wait for about 45min, but the hostess was pleasant and seemed to try really hard to get everyone seated quickly and in the correct order.

I had the blueberry pancakes w/maple butter. Pancakes were dense, but had a good "homemade" texture and a buttery flavor even without the sauce. The maple butter was delicious. My only complaint was that they could have had more blueberries in the pancakes.

My bf had an ommlett w/carmelized onions & cheddar. It came with excellent buttery (mmm, I love butter...) hash browns and good sourdough toast. Toast came with yummy, homemade raspberry jam. He found the ommlette to be tasty, but a little bland. He wanted the onions to be a little more carmelized to bring out their natural sweetness and the cheddar to have been a little sharper for contrast.

Overall: I liked the place, it's cute, clean and service was rushed but friendly. The food is simple and tastes fresh. I wouldn't make a special trip to go here, but would eat here again if in the area.
