For those who don't know, April is Grilled Cheese Month at Clementine, where they feature a different sandwich each day of the month.
I missed out on the previous days, but today's feature was the Croque Monsieur w/ham and gruyère topped w/mornay sauce. Absolutely delicious, and I topped it off with a butterscotch brownie, whose texture and consistency is the best of any brownie I've had.
Among the rest of the notables include:
April 8 - Roasted asparagus w/parmesan, mozzarella, ricotta & basil on olive bread
April 10 - Swiss cheese, ham & roast pork w/pickles, mustard & may on a cuban roll
April 13 - Eggplant Parmigiana w/mozzarella, basil & roasted tomatoes
April 18 - Grilled Mexican torta w/ham, oaxacan string cheese, tomatoes, mayo & pickled jalapenos
April 19 - Wisconsin rarebit w/Neuske's bacon
April 22 - Brie w/sautéed spinach & apples on a French baguette
April 25 - Southwestern quesadilla w/Monterey jack, grilled poblanos & cilantro w/sour cream & smoky tomato salsa
April 29 - Queso Mahon (cow's milk cheese aged in the caves of Menorca for 2 months; the orange rind comes from being rubbed in paprika & olive oil) w/roasted peppers & pimenton
Clementine issues a cool international passport at the restaurant, which has detailed pages. They stamp you every time you order a grilled cheese sandwich...
