I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Clarendon's finest funky seafood shack and am very sorry I missed it before. Via recommendations here, I ordered the char-grilled grouper with new potatoes and mixed vegetables. I would never normally order grouper (overfished in florida and you often get substandard imports). The chef REALLY understands how to cook fish to perfection- that's all I can say- it was grilled with perfect grill marks, wasn't raw in the middle, but by no means was over-cooked. You know when you hit al-dente in pasta? That was this fish. The only better grilled fish I can remember was a Flounder from Chincoteague. The care they put toward the vegetables is truly amazing- the garlic-infused mixed vegetables and the crusty new potatoes were the best I've ever had at a casual restaurant. My wife ordered the crab cakes- they had filler, but they tasted great and were a big hit. My son got the kids' fried fish basket and he was a little too under-the-weather to enjoy it, but he loved it for lunch the next day. The amount of food for the kids dinner was stunning. I really want to go back to try the vegetarian options- they look really great. I counted 3 other families there as well as a gang watching college football. This place is well worth visiting. Total bill for 3 was in the 40s.
